Ben O’Callaghan (aka EcoBenno) is an electric car enthusiast and sustainable design professional with over 20 years of experience. Ben provides advice to those about to buy electric cars, or develop sustainable communities. He has owned multiple electric cars since 2019 and shares that knowledge with clients. Ben:

Lives in an award-winning sustainable house, inside Australia’s most awarded sustainable community, in the Gold Coast.
Has experience providing sustainability services to developers, landholders, universities and companies such as Mirvac, Sekisui House, Gold Coast City Council, Hassell, Wilson Architects and Villaworld.
Has a Masters in Architecture: Sustainable Development and Design, from the University of Sydney and lectured at Bond University.

Advice

We offer VIP pre-purchase advice to people about to buy new or pre-loved electric cars. We aim to ensure the car you buy matches your needs and help you avoid paying too much, hopefully saving you around $2,000 in the buying process. We also help reduce risks related to buying second hand cars, and some new ones. We have knowledge of all major brands including Tesla, BYD, MG, Genesis, BMW, Mercedes KIA, Hyundai etc. Our packages start from $500. Common questions include: how can I check the range of an EV - and what charging equipment might I need at home. Contact us and we'll provide more details on our buyer's advocacy service so you can ask any question you have.

Our process in summary includes:

1. A phone call or online with you, to understand your needs and preferences (range, timing, location, budget etc)

2. We provide detailed advice and if required, assess cars currently available on the market for you, matching your needs. You can tell us which cars to review, or we can find cars that suit your needs. We can also outline the pros and cons of outright vs novated leases.

3. We help you shortlist cars. You talk to the sellers and purchase your vehicle as desired. We can provide ongoing support as required.

We do not provide financial services or loans. We are independent. We are not paid or influenced by any car manufacturers. We love sharing our knowledge with you, to you avoid buying a lemon, and get the best value for money in this quickly changing segment of the car market.

Prerequisites:

1. You must be nearly ready to purchase a fully electric car, so you can make the most of our advice.

2. We only provide services within the Australian market and we only provide advice on 100% electric vehicles.
