eCommerce
Your AÍFE.AI comes with basic eCommerce capability, courtesy of an integration with Snipcart.
Besides using Snipcart, it is also possible to add a PayPal "buy" or "donate" button.
Without coding, you should be able to start selling through your footprint in no time.
SnipCart
If you don't have a Snipcart account yet, you can create one by choosing create snipcart account under get started.
Once you have created your Snipcart account;
- Sign into your Snipcart account
- Click on the account icon (top right corner).
- Click on API keys under account.
- Copy the public test (or live) API key.
- Paste the copied key into the input field under settings > ecommerce > snipcart > api key in the AÍFE FMS.
- Hit publish in the FMS to make your ecommerce setting live.
Then, to create a buy button for any item in the content tree;
- Go to the item's enrich tab.
- Tick ecommerce item.
- Fill out the item's details.
Note the packaged width, height, and length measurements are requirements if AusPost is your delivery service.
PayPal
In situations where a shopping cart is overkill, it is possible use a simple PayPal-connected button.
- From within your PayPal account, choose Manage buttons under Seller Tools.
- Under Step 1, choose "Buy Now" button type, and fill out the item name and price. Do not customise the button.
- Skip Step 2 and Step 3 and just hit the 'Create Button' button.
- Under 'Add your button to your website', switch to the 'Email' tab and copy the link.
- Back in the Footprint Management System, go to the enrich tab of the item you wish to show the PayPal button for.
- Check the 'external url, button, iframe, widget' item and wait for the window to open.
- Put the PayPal link under url.
- Create a suitable caption for your button (e.g. 'Buy now').
Your item will now have a button that will start the PayPal checkout process. A PayPal icon will have been automatically added to your button.
